
Tip 1
Have a reliable Anti-virus and Anti-spyware program installed on your computer and
update your virus definitions weekly. If you suspect that you have a virus,
visit http://housecall.trendmicro.com and perform a free virus scan of your computer.
Tip 2
Perform Windows updates frequently to ensure you fix any security problems found
in the Windows operating system. The updates also include fixes for bugs and add features
to existing programs. You can also set your updates to automatic run by going to Start >
Control Panel (or Start > Settings > Control Panel) > open the "Automatic Updates" > and choose "Automatic".
Press Ok to close.
Tip 3
Remove all cookies by opening Internet Explorer.
Then go to Tools > Internet Options > Delete Cookies. You may wish to delete all
temporary files (with offline content) as well.
Tip 4
Always uninstall a program through the Add/Remove program located in your control panel.
Tip 5
Perform a monthly disk defragmentation by going to Start >
Program Files > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter. Right click on your C: and click "Defragment".

Have your computer cleaned by a professional computer technician at least once a year.
